Modern water disinfection methods

Wastewater cleaning, when designing construction, seems especially relevant. There are several basic basic methods of this activity, including traditional chlorination, irradiation with ultravioletus, ozoning, etc.

In the first, the most common, case, a solution of chlorine is added to the water that kills both pathogens and beneficial bacteria by oxidation. A serious disadvantage of this method is the resistance of viruses to it. But, most importantly, chlorine, having carcinogenic characteristics, is able to extremely negatively affect human health.

At the same time, the disinfection of water with sodium hypochlorite by cost is quite commensurate with the previous method, but its effect on the human body is less adverse.

In foreign countries, the method of ozoning was widespread. That is, water treatment with oxygen compounds. Ozone shows a property of high antibactericidal activity. This type can be used both independently and at the final stage of chlorination. The disadvantage of the method is its high cost.

The safest option, in the projection of human health, is ultraviolet irradiation. This installation works instantly and neutralizes almost the entire pathogenic microflora. At the same time, the taste and smell of water do not change.

In addition, such little -known techniques as the use of potassium permanganate, lime, sodium ferrite, etc. were somewhat spreading.
